THE FERENCZI HOUSE project
Circular letter to the donors
July 10, 2000

Dear Donors – Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Before the summer holidays, we would like to inform you about the Ferenczi House project – for the Sándor Ferenczi Archives and International Center.

The Sandor Ferenczi Society received the Mary S. Sigourney Award for significant contributions to the field of psychoanalysis, as already annouced in our previous letter. The ceremony took place in New York, in January during the Winter meeting of the American Psychoanalytic Association. The Ferenczi Society offered almost the entire Award as a donation for the House project, namely the amount of 35.000 USD.

Thanks to all of you – please find the list of donors in the attached file – and to the efforts ofinternational Ferenczi organisations like Associazione Culturale Sándor Ferenczi, the Maison Ferenczi, the Sándor Ferenczi Fundation, and the Sándor Ferenczi Society, by now we have collected 25.000 EUR and 35.000 USD. This is¾th of the necessary amount for buying the apartment. The missing part is approximately 20.000 EUR. A complete financial report will be sent before the end of the year.

A new website has been constructed - http//www.ferenczihouse.org – which replaces the websites www.ferenczi.it/renaissance.ferenczi.it, www.ferenczi.it/house.ferenczi.it, which previously was temporarily hosted by the Italian society. The new website aims at serving as a tool for the international Ferenczi network. The home page contains an Agenda of the main events. You will find in it the reports of the Ferenczi House project, the link to pay pal for making donations, the list of donors and more. If you wish to add new information, please it to mail@ferenczihouse.org.

Finally, we would like to inform you that the house can be used for seminars and lectures for 30 people. The Foundation offered 2000 EUR for the basic furniture of the archives, and colleagues from Stuttgart visited the house in June, having a scientific meeting there. Colleagues from Spain would like to organize and event, too. Within the end of this year we expect to set up the basic elements of the archives and library.
